- Grog get a beard
Here is a little info on what I'm watching tv, movies and streaming. First movies. love K-pop Demon Hunters the music is amazing and such a timely message in my opinion. When I'm feeling down one of my go to movies is The Mitchells vs. the Machines always makes me laugh and feel less alone. In the darker side one of my favorite recent horror films was A Quiet Place: Day One Lupita Nyong'o gives an amazing performance and Joseph Quinn is incredible in the supporting role.
On to tv/streaming I'm really enjoying Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, I'm a sucker for a good Kaiju show. I love Stranger Things and plan to watch it again form the beginning in the not too distant future. I'm a huge fan of Star Trek and I really enjoyed Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, really sorry to hear there will only be one more season. Excited for the new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, sad it's ending though. I'll miss my weekly dose of Trek. I'm also really enjoying The Boys and Invincible for their darker look at super heroes.
I am a huge fan of Stranger Things so I had to binge Stranger Things: Tales from '85, the voices threw me off for a bit at first but I feel like they mostly captured the essence of the characters they were portraying. The voice actors for Max an Dustin knocked it out out of the park as far as capturing their characters. The story was entertaining ands it didn't feel like is strayed too much from the mythos. All in all I really enjoyed it.
A little late to the party but I finally watched Knives Out starring Daniel Craig as the detective Benoit Blanc, he was excellent though I must say the cast in general was awesome. I high recommend it if you enjoy a good mystery. The sequel Glass Onion was entertaining, with another phenomenal cast, but didn't capture me the same way the first film did. The third and most recent film Wake Up Dead Man was a return to form and really kept me guessing. Benoit Blanc is a great character and I hope this isn't the last we see of him.
Another animated series I've really enjoyed is The Legend of Vox Machina, they really nail the Dungeons and Dragons feel and I love that it's at least loosely based on an actual campaign. Travis Willingham's performance as Grog Strongjaw is stand out and he's easily my favorite character. Though I love them all for different reasons.
I'm also a Brony a big fan of My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic what Lauren Faust created was truly special and the show wasn't the same after she left. The Pony I felt most connected to was Fluttershy who represented kindness, which is an attribute I value greatly as well. The music was a big part of what made the show for me. True True Friend is a wonderful song and love the soundtrack to My Little Pony Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks, Under Our Spell and Welcome to the Show being standout tracks for me, Daniel Ingram really brought the music.
